The lacquer filter paper is one of the representative paper of Yoshino Washi. It is the thinnest paper in Washi. But never shredded by wringing. Nowadays, although the substitute paper is used widely, genuine lacquer artisans use traditional handmade paper.
At present, only Mr Konbu Takao keeps making it in Yoshino.
This is definitely indispensable for Japanese traditional culture.
