Mr Hasegawa Satoshi learnt Washi making under the legendary artisan Mr Saito Hiroshi in Futamata and Mr Furuta Kozo in Mino.
He inherits the genuine traditional technique from the artisans, especially good at very thin Kozo paper.
He had worked in Mino for some decades, in 2017, he moved back to his home town Tsuruoka of Yamagata prefecture, opened his own workshop.
The paper made from high-quality Nasu Kozo is highly admired among the conservators.
