He led \u201cJapanese folk-art movement(\u65e5\u672c\u6c11\u85dd\u904b\u52d5)\u201d together with Mr Bernard Leach and Mr Yanagi Souestu(\u67f3\u5b97\u60a6), also investigated and researched the historical papers, including Sh\u014ds\u014d-in treasures.<\/strong>
\nHe was certified as the first living national treasure of Washi in 1968 together with Mr Iwano Ichibei (8th) of Echizen. Many artisans were learnt and influenced by him.<\/strong>
\nHis grandsons keep running the workshop. They make various papers skillfully using Kozo\/Mitsumata\/Gampi, for instance, \u201cIzumo Cloud paper\u201d and \u201cGampi paper\u201d which Mr Bernard Leach was impressed at.
